Tuesday night was the start of the state tournament, and #5 ranked Mountain Pointe played host to #12 ranked Skyline.  The game went back and forth early, but in the middle of the second quarter the Pride took full control of the game. Skyline won the first quarter 22-20, but MP found their shooting stroke,

Senior night didn’t turn out the way the Pride would have liked, as they dropped the game 68-59 to Gilbert.  The loss was more than just a tough way for the seniors to play their last home regular season game, it also cost MP the conference title and their 3rd spot in the state tournament.

In rivalry games, you can throw out records.  Many times the intensity of the rivals supersedes the wins and losses on each teams record.  That wasn’t the case last night as the #3 ranked Mountain Pointe Pride dismantled #21 Corona Del Sol 78-48.  It was Corona’s senior night, which made the victory that much sweeter
